SMC Plumbing and Heating

SMC Plumbing and Heating is a plumbing and heating company based in Cardiff. The company has grown steadily for the last 9 years and was founded by Scott. Rob has been part of the SMC team for over 6 years and specialises in heating. All engineers are Gas Safe Registered and have been trained to install Nest products. SMC is a Worcester Accredited Installer and is fully insured. Being Worcester accredited installers allows SMC to offer guarantee periods of 6 to 12 years on Worcester boilers.

SMC offers long warranties on boiler brands such as Worcester, Glowworm, Viessmann and Baxi. SMC was commended for Boiler and Heating Installer / Contractor of the year (regional) at the Energy Efficiency Awards in Wales, and was also commended for Vulnerable Customer Support (regional) at the same awards. Scott, founder of SMC Plumbing & Heating, was nominated Tradesman Of The Month by MyBuilder.com. SMC offers a full range of plumbing and heating solutions, covering leaks and problems from a leaking tap to installing a full central heating system or a full bathroom renovation.

SMC Plumbing and Heating is a Cardiff-based plumbing and heating firm whose customers repeatedly describe work of a high standard. Several reviewers mention Scott by name, noting his professionalism, punctuality and friendly manner, while others single out Rob for a leaky pipe repair carried out at a fair price. An aspect raised across a number of reviews is the care taken to explain options and keep customers informed, with one household recalling being offered a choice of pump qualities before Fabio replaced the faulty unit and renewed two further parts.

Boiler installation and servicing form a large part of the feedback, alongside the fitting of Hive thermostats, showers and a replacement thermostat when an existing unit failed. Reviewers describe honest, competitive quotes, prompt replies to enquiries and appointments arranged within days. Tidiness is a recurring theme, with areas left clean after jobs and no mess reported following a boiler swap. Customers also value the follow-up calls made the next morning to check everything was working, and the willingness to return when challenges arose during installation. Many return for further work and mention maintaining heating systems at a church as well as in their own homes.
