Professional service from start to finish After contacting The Edinburgh Boiler Company about installing a solar PV and battery system, Colin arranged to visit my home to discuss my requirements. From the outset he presented a very professional image, arriving in a branded company vehicle and uniform, which immediately gave confidence in the company. Rather than simply trying to sell a system, Colin took the time to understand my needs, explained the available options and made sensible recommendations. My quotation was emailed promptly and Colin then talked through it with me over the phone, answering all of my questions. Although it wasn't the cheapest quote I received, I felt it represented the best overall value for the quality of equipment, installation and service, so I decided to go ahead. Throughout the process, Katlyn and Anna in the office were excellent. They organised all the appointments efficiently, kept me informed and were always helpful whenever I had a question. The installation itself was equally impressive. The scaffolding was erected beforehand as planned and, on installation day, Annette, Chris, Sam, Reece and Robert all arrived on time. Before starting work they walked me through the installation, explained everything clearly and discussed the best locations for the equipment. I appreciated that they listened to my views while also offering their professional recommendations. The roof installation and cabling were completed neatly, and on the second day Robert returned to complete the inverter and battery installation. He took the time to demonstrate the system, set up the monitoring app and made sure I was comfortable using it before leaving. My solar PV system is now performing very well, producing excellent daily generation figures, and I am delighted with the finished installation. Overall, The Edinburgh Boiler Company has provided a professional, well-organised and customer-focused service from the initial enquiry through to completion. Every member of the team I dealt with was courteous, knowledgeable and took pride in their work. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone considering a solar and battery installation.

Edinburgh Boiler Company recently installed a solar panel and battery system on our house. From start to finish I have been hugely impressed by their knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail. I was unsure about what system to get or which supplier to use for our installation. However, having received a recommendation for EBC I booked an initial appointment. Following a face to face visit from them I felt confident they were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the benefits of renewable energy. Abby and Anna in the office kept me informed throughout the process and the team of roofers and electricians were excellent - working quickly and tidying up fully after before they left. Fantastic experience from start to finish. From meeting Rick and getting our initial quote right through to the brilliant team of installers, who fitted the whole system in one day! I would also mention the office staff who were all very helpful. I had thought about a solar system for several years and contacted a few other installers. EBC being local as well as that "first impression" gave me confidence that they were the company to go with. I came back to Edinburgh Boiler Co as a repeat customer. Back in February, they installed a new gas boiler for me after mine failed at the coldest time of the year. That job was professional from beginning to end. So when I wanted solar PV, I decided to give them a try. I had already had four or five other quotes, some of which were very good, so EBC had a lot to live up to. However, when their Solar PV surveyor visited my come to do the survey, I knew straight away that they were up to the job. The surveyor was polite, friendly and very professional, explaining everything very clearly. Then the Proposal arrived a couple of days later - it was by far the highest standard of proposal I had seen. We negotiated a little on the specification and the price and I decided to go ahead. We then moved into the planning phase and EBC put a really competent project manager on the case. She took care of everything, ensuring the project stayed on track. She registered all the required paperwork, arranged the scaffolders, the roofers and the solar PV electrical team. What's more, she kept me fully informed at all times - fantastic. Then came the time for the installation. The scaffold team arrived promptly on Monday morning and had the scaffold erected without fuss within 3 hours. The roofers and electricians arrived at 8 am the next day, led by a very competent lead electrician who acted as the on-site project manager, guiding all team members to ensure the job was done properly. The roofers did a great job, fixing the solar PV mounting rails and the actual panels, ensuring the roof remained leak proof. They even replaced a few slipped slates for me. By 4.30 pm that day, the system was up and running and producing all my electrical power. Now my electricity bill has dropped to one sixth of what it was before. So, I'm very pleased with the job EBC did for me. I think the key factors in the success are professionalism, good knowledge of solar technology and above all, the use of project managers during planning and when the installation was done. On the basis of this experience, I can't recommend EBC highly enough. Thank you very much EBC !

Delighted with the installation of a 10-panel solar system, including battery, by Edinburgh Boiler Company. From start to finish they provided 1st Class service. Having obtained 8 separate quotes for a system, EBC were one of only two installers to conduct an on-site survey, which gave me much greater confidence in their proposal. Their sales rep., Colin Buckle, took time to explain technical aspects of the system and answered all of my questions during both his on-site visit and subsequently, when I had some further queries. At no time was I subjected to ‘special offers’ or other inducements to sign up - unlike some of the other installers! The installation team (Marc? + 2 colleagues) arrived promptly on the day and beavered away without a break, completing a very tidy job before then talking me through the operating system. In the first full week following installation, I’ve only used 5kWh of electricity from the Grid, which included recharging my hybrid car! I’m more than happy to recommend EBC to anyone considering a solar installation.
